GSD’s capacity to initiate collaboration with key stakeholders places the organisation in a unique position to execute projects aimed to foster economic development. The projects carried out by GSD are carefully deliberated, and have radiating impacts beyond the initial project that benefits the greater gulf region. Currently GSD is working on two major projects, with one focusing on developing higher educational opportunities in the region and the other addressing the availability of fresh produce in the Gulf.<br /> The future of GSD will be dominated by investment in projects and initiatives that directly benefit the greater Gulf Region, which will be decided through various GSD meetings scheduled throughout the year. Some of the projects that are currently being assessed include; the Savannah Way bitumen project – connecting the gulf roads; the blue fibre optic extension project – the continuous improvement of digital connection in the Gulf; improving zone taxing to support economic development and encourage investment; and the improvement of bank lending in remote areas. Although these are the current potential projects in the pipeline, changes in priorities and the provision of new ideas are always welcomed.<br />
